Elephant Foot clarinet bells and barrels are expertly hand-crafted in our workshop in England from responsibly sourced woods. A symbiosis of form and function, each bell and barrel produces an exceptionally distinct sound to suit your very own instrument and artistry as a musician.

Our aim is to let you find new qualities of your clarinet, explore new possibilities of tone and expressivity and manifest the uniqueness of your art both acoustically and visually.

Your First Choice

With years of experience in wood-working and professional training as musicians, we know the acoustic properties of different woods like the back of our hands. It is our attention to detail that makes our brand the first choice for clarinettists on their quest for an improved sound.

Alongside the vast selection of materials that provides an unparalleled palette of timbres, we offer a unique choice in bore shapes and sizes that will match and balance the pressure from your embouchure to the clarinet. Put simply, your product will be 100% tailored to your needs.

Inspired By Nature

We import our tonewoods from specialised wood cutters and dealers in South Africa, Central America and Europe who offer durable, high-quality timber. All of our woods are seasoned for a minimum of eight years, some for several decades.

The majority of woods used in woodwind instrument making originate from Southern Africa. Our respect for nature — which provides this incredible richness of tonewoods — inspired us to name our brand after an animal so strongly synonymous with the majestic yet fragile African ecosystem. For us, the shape of the clarinet is a tribute to this continent, in its resemblance to an elephant foot.

An Ode To Clarinet History

Our product lines are named after some of the most influential composers of the clarinet repertoire: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gioachino Rossini, Claude Debussy, Igor Stravinsky and Karlheinz Stockhausen.

Each piece pays tribute to its namesake and their seminal compositions for the clarinet — from Mozart's Clarinet Concerto and Rossini's Introduction, Theme and Variations, to Debussy's Première Rhapsodie, Stravinsky's Three Pieces and Stockhausen's In Freundschaft — playfully reinterpreting the history of the clarinet.
